Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about QRFlux and QR codes

What is a QR code?

A QR (Quick Response) code is a two-dimensional barcode that can store various types of information like URLs, text, contact details, and more. When scanned with a smartphone camera, it instantly directs users to the encoded content.

What's the difference between static and dynamic QR codes?

Static QR codes contain fixed data that cannot be changed after creation. Dynamic QR codes use a short URL that redirects to your content, allowing you to update the destination URL, track scans, and add features like password protection and scheduling without changing the QR code itself.

Can I track how many times my QR code has been scanned?

Yes! QRFlux provides detailed analytics for all QR codes, including scan counts, geographic location, device types, browsers, and scan times. Pro users get unlimited analytics history, while Free users get 7 days of data.

Can I edit my QR code after creating it?

For dynamic QR codes, yes! You can change the destination URL, update content, modify password protection, adjust scheduling, and update geo-targeting rules at any time. The QR code image itself remains the same. Static QR codes cannot be edited.

What types of QR codes can I create?

QRFlux supports 12 types: Website URL, Simple Text, Email, SMS Message, Contact Card (vCard), WiFi Network, Phone Number, WhatsApp, Location (GPS), Calendar Event, File Download, and App Store Link.

How do I customize the design of my QR code?

You can customize colors (foreground and background with gradients), add your logo in the center, choose from 6 patterns (square, dot, rounded), apply 14 decorative frames with custom text, and adjust error correction levels.

What size should my QR code be for printing?

The minimum recommended size is 2x2 cm (0.8x0.8 inches) for optimal scanning. For larger distances, use bigger sizes. QRFlux generates QR codes from 200x200px to 600x600px, which print well at 300 DPI.

What is password protection for QR codes?

Password protection (Pro feature) requires users to enter a password before accessing the QR code content. This is useful for exclusive content, private events, or restricting access to authorized users only.

Can I schedule when my QR code is active?

Yes! Scheduling (Pro feature) lets you set start and end dates for your QR code. It's perfect for limited-time promotions, event tickets, or time-sensitive content.

What is geo-targeting in QR codes?

Geo-targeting (Pro feature) allows you to redirect users to different URLs based on their country. For example, users in the US see one page while users in the UK see another. Perfect for international campaigns.

Do QR codes expire?

Static QR codes never expire - they work forever. Dynamic QR codes work as long as your QRFlux account is active. If you cancel your subscription, dynamic QR codes may stop working, but you can always download your QR codes.

Can I use QR codes for commercial purposes?

Absolutely! QRFlux is designed for both personal and commercial use. All plans include commercial usage rights. Use QR codes for marketing, products, business cards, packaging, and more.

How do I add a logo to my QR code?

During the design step, upload your logo image (PNG, JPG, or SVG). QRFlux automatically centers it and ensures the QR code remains scannable by adjusting error correction.

What's the maximum number of scans for a QR code?

Free plans have a monthly limit of 10,000 scans total across all QR codes. Pro plans have unlimited scans. Individual QR codes have no per-code scan limits.

Can I download my QR code in different formats?

Yes! You can download QR codes as PNG (raster image) or SVG (vector image). SVG format is recommended for print materials as it scales to any size without losing quality.
